She received her BS in Applied Psychology from Penn State and she stated working with children and families 15 years ago. Nicole’s initial work in social services had her fulfilling many roles including being a doula working with pregnant teens and working with children in foster care, as well as families/children involved with the Office of Children and Youth Services, with the goal of keeping families together. This helped strengthen her passion for social services work.
Nicole decided to advance her education and received her Master’s degree in Community Counseling from Carlow University. She has also completed a 2-year certificate program for Gestalt Psychotherapy; Trauma Recovery for Autistic, Intellectually Disabled, and Neurodiverse Individuals; Structural Family Therapy; and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Since receiving her master’s, Nicole continued to work with children and focuses on providing counseling services to children (ages 5+), adults and families in the home, community and outpatient settings including Individual and Group work.
Nicole believes that we make adaptations based on past experiences to serve a purpose, at times we come to therapy if those adaptations are no longer serving us as they once did. Through the therapeutic relationship, new adaptations for the present can be explored in a safe and supportive environment.
