People seek out individual therapy if they are going through a major life transition (unemployment, divorce, etc) or are experiencing a stressful circumstance where typical coping skills do not seem to be working. Others seek out therapy if they want to learn more about themselves or want support meeting life goals.
We can help adults by working one-on-one with a trained therapist, often on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, to explore feelings and behaviors, identify goals and potential solutions to problems which are causing emotional unrest. You will learn skills to improve self-awareness and self-esteem, strengthen communication and coping skills, promote behavior change and improve mental health.
We can help children cope with challenges including social difficulties, anxiety, school problems, life changes and trauma. Individual therapy with young children may involve a combination of talk, play and behavioral modification strategies.
We can help adolescents with anxiety, depressed mood, academic stress and peer relationship issues.
